spotted over at kris’s journal to health. i’m on it!
A: is for Apple, what’s your favorite variety? gala. or fiji. depends on the day and what’s in front of me. either are fine by me.
B: is for Bread, regardless of nutrition, calories, or whole grains what is your favorite type to have a nice big piece of? there is an olive oil bread that i just love. also love anything from panera. oh, my thighs!
C: is for Cereal what is your favorite kind currently (just one!) i eat cereal once in a blue moon, but if i had to: wegman’s blueberry muffin squares.
D: is for Doughnuts, you might not currently be eating them but what kind do you fancy? cake donut (no dough) of any variety.
E: is for Eggs, how would you like yours prepared? scrambled. or hard-boiled.
F: is for Fat Free, what is your favorite fat-free product? i don’t do fat-free because they’re normally so high in sugar, but coffee creamer if i’m forced to choose.
G: is for Groceries, where do you purchase yours at? wegmans. if you don’t have one, or have never experienced one, you must.
H: is for Hot Beverages, what is your favorite hot drink? el cafe.
I: is for Ice Cream, pick a favorite flavor and add a fun topping. cookies and cream…with extra cookies!
J: is for Jams or Jellies, do you eat them, and if so what kind and flavor? nope. but if i did, i’d eat strawberry.
K: is for Kashi, name your favorite Kashi product? eh. haven’t found one i like enough to call a favorite.
L: is for Lunch, what was yours today? i’ll be eating grilled chicken breast and a bit of mashed potatoes…leftovers from last night’s dinner out.
M: is for microwave, what is your favorite microwave meal/snack? popcorn!
N: is for nutrients, do you like carbs, fats, or proteins best? i love carbs (obviously), but they don’t love me. my post-band lifestyle forces me to love (hate) proteins.
O: is for oil, what kind do you like to use? if i use anything, olive.
P: is for protein, how do you get yours? ground beef, ground turkey, chicken, eggs, beans, cheese, tuna, and the occasional shake or bar.
Q: is for Quaker, how do you like your oats? i love the fruit cream variety pack, but they’re loaded with sugar, so i don’t eat them anymore. tear.
R: is for roasting, what is your favorite thing to roast? marshallows!
S: is for sandwich, what’s your favorite kind? i LOVE subway. in fact, today is wednesday, which means subway after zumba. i look forward to this every week. fortunately for me, my band is still loose enough that i can eat bread. i love tuna with cucumbers, green peppers, banana peppers and a little italian dressing (sounds weird but tastes amazing).
T: is for travel, how do you handle eating while traveling? i don’t get to travel nearly as much as i want, but i generally let myself indulge (not to the point of gluttony) because i am so careful at home. and because vacations for me are sacred times of indulgence – relaxing, reading, tanning, EATING!
U: is for unique, what is one of your weirdest food combos? i like eating pureed butternut squash with peas. in fact, i like mixing peas in almost anything savory. i also love salad with mexican rice on top, and pasta with cottage cheese. i fell in love with both in college when choices were few and far between. not sure how weird those are but i’m not too out-of-the-ordinary.
V: is for vitamins, what kind do you take? what vitamins don’t i take? one centrum chewable and two caltrate chewables. also have a bottle of flintstones that makes an appearance from time to time.
W: is for wasabi, yay or nay? nay. love sushi. wasabi: not so much.
X: is for XRAY. if we xrayed your belly right now, what food would we see? a banana with peanut butter. and a cup of coffee.
Y: is for youth, what food reminds you of your childhood? my mom used to make this bagged frozen stirfry, made with rice, water chestnuts and snap peas; you only had to add the chicken. haven’t seen it in stores in ages. i don’t think i would eat it now — i got my fill of it during my youth — but it’d be interesting to see it again. ahhhh. memories.
Z: is for zucchini, how do you prepare it? anyway. looooove it. and squash.
