me <—– hypothyroid, insulin resistant, PCOS. i am a metabolic nightmare.

i’ve tried to lose weight on my own the “natural” way, but gain and lose the same two pounds week after week.

so i was banded (LAP-BAND) on march 9, 2011. i want to look and feel better, but most importantly, i want to kick my PCOS symptoms to the curb.

i’m blogging about my continuing journey to healthiness with the hopes it might help someone – starting with me.

  1. Yay on your date! Here are few things that may be helpful:

    1. They make liquid Metformin which I am on. It doesn’t taste the best but way better than attempting to get those horse pills down (post-band). Getting stuck on those bad boys would be a an epic fail! If your insurance doesn’t cover the formulary, Walgreens can mix it up right there in their pharmacy for cheap (mine is $14)

    2. The BEST protein shakes for your liquid diet, I have found are the Pure Protein Powders at Target. They.taste.like.a.shake. && They are the same content as the ones my surgeon office sells and with 25g of protein, vs. 20g. The second best I have found is GNC 100 % Whey, the banana cream is yummy. I mix mine with ice and fat free milk in the blender to make a filling, thick shake! 😉

    3. Getting Lipton Chicken Noodle Soup Mix and cracking an egg while boiling makes a great addition to your liquid diet w/ lots of added protein!
